With a name like the HTC DROID Incredible 2, this HTC Android smartphone has a lot to live up to, and while it’s an overall okay smartphone, the HTC DROID Incredible 2 has lots of issues that are crippling its true potential.
Faulty Multimedia Options
With a 4 inch screen, internal speakers, and bundled multimedia software, you’d expect it to be a media monster, but unfortunately it isn’t. The HTC DROID Incredible 2 doesn’t support movie rotation during playback (which can be a big headache at times), its 4 inch screen is very poor under sunlight, and the internal speakers of the Incredible 2 are bad when using the speakerphone settings and are even worse when listening to music.
No Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Android 2.3 Gingerbread features lots of new features, including more efficient power management, updated camera options, better download management, a new user interface, an improved touchscreen keyboard, and lots of other features ‘” features that aren’t available on the HTC DROID Incredible 2 smartphone. Although most other modern Android smartphones released around the time of the Incredible 2 feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it’s a bummer that the HTC DROID Incredible 2 will be running on older software.
Hardware is Lacking
Not only is software an issue with this smartphone, but its hardware also presents a few concerns. While most modern Android phones are running on 1GB of RAM and sporting a dual-core processor, the DROID Incredible 2 only features a single core processor and 768 MB of RAM. Lacking Android 2.3 (which makes for a more efficient OS than 2.2) and featuring inferior hardware than is expected during this smartphone generation presents a major concern and is one of the biggest factors that’s holding this smartphone back the most.
Bloatware That Cannot Be Uninstalled
Lots of Android phones (especially from Verizon) feature unnecessary added software, but while they’re usually not that big of an issue, Verizon went above and beyond to add lots of unwanted promotional and unwanted software that simply cannot be removed.
Battery Life Is Poor
Honestly, most HTC smartphones have poor battery life, so it should be an expected blunder of this phone, but as expected as it may be, it’s still a major concern of the HTC DROID Incredible 2. Battery life results will rely heavily on what’s being done on a smartphone, but with average users experiencing such low battery yield as 4-6 hours, it’s safe to say that the battery life of the HTC DROID Incredible 2 is lacking.
